2016 Bend Marathon and Half and Family 4k Participant SurveY

1527 of you registered to run - a 13% increase over 2015!
302 Marathoners, 1,124 Half Marathoners and 101 Family 4k runners were 13 and over
2 of you got married during the race!
Nearly 300 people volunteered
Runners contributed $416 to American Cancer Society during registration and over six large bags of warm clothing from the Start Line went to The Shepherd House in Bend - along with the leftover food.
Bend Marathon matched the runner contribution and added to it is as part of our volunteer partnership, contributing over $6200 in total to American Cancer Society
An additional $400 went to the Summit High School cross country program for their support

We’re interested in meeting the expectations of runners for what they get in exchange for what they pay to participate in the Bend Marathon and Half and Family 4k. Of course all runners have different priorities, and we’d love to hear yours! This year, in exchange for the entry fee, runners received:

Registration/Packets: Picky Bar, Run Gum, Jamba Juice bell, Picky Bar and Jamba Juice coupons, T-shirt
Course: Aid stations, sufficient portable toilets, volunteers, medical care, urban and rural sections of course (‘in town’ courses require more in terms of flaggers, closing parking, etc.)
Finish: Medal, water/bananas/pastry/bagels, Jamba Juice, Deschutes beer
4k: Free entry and medal for kids 12 and under
